Katherine Woodward Thomas is a friend of mine. This makes this book review more satisfying and at the same time offers a window into the woman behind the book. I've seen Katherine at various stages of her being her, and I can tell you with unwavering testament that her book is brilliant, and at the same time nowhere near as powerful as sitting in the room with her.
When Katherine gazes upon you, it is as if she sees deep within your soul, and her way of speaking to you cuts through any story you my try to weave. Because she sees into your soul, she understands the longing for love within each of us. Her life work is guiding each of us to love.
Her story is quite remarkable, and more importantly her personal tenacity and vision has created a following of people that believe wholeheartedly in her and her work. Okay, including me. At a time in my life when I didn't know how to find love or where to turn, her work inspired and answered many questions that had not yet been answered for me.
Let me begin by saying that Katherine Woodward Thomas is an extraordinary Marriage and Family Therapist. Her ability to work her magic has changed many lives, brought countless relationships back from the brink of disaster, and set many people on the road to deep healing.
And, her book was not written by her, but written through her, with Spirit.
Why do I say this?
Because her book, Calling in "The One": 7 Weeks to Attract the Love of Your Life, is more than clearing cobwebs. More than a 'system', it is a personal spiritual overhaul. Inside the covers, you will find a step-by-step method for seeing, discovering, and clearing anything in your way of finding your beloved--but more importantly personal happiness.
I loved her book, and I keep a copy on my shelf at all times. And, she teaches the way for us to clear our personal baggage, illustrating how we are destined to find a mommy or daddy to play out our life drama if we don't. Yes, we all know we have to love ourselves and heal our family, but the important part here is that her method for truly clearing away the debris is outstanding.
Aside from being a brilliant therapist, Katherine is a master storyteller, and her book is filled with quotes and antidotes that will force you to reevaluate your life and circumstances.
One of the many breakthroughs I experienced came in her concept of love being everywhere in our lives and to stop questioning the form it takes. In essence, if you appreciate all that you love and all who love you, it will be drawn to you in droves. In this way, the form of partnership love can come to you.
