The other day someone asked me about my Spirit Guides. What do they do? What or who are they? As I began to explain that they guide all of us, I realized that perhaps I was looking at this in a way that truly did not serve me.
What if Spririt Guides were not in fact, "Spirit Guides" but perhaps it was:
Spirit...Guides.
Yes, what if the entire focus was "Spirit guides us" and not a particular group of entities standing around waiting to lead us to the proper choices for us? Wouldn't that confirm the same Spirit that runs through us all, in fact, guided Jesus and Mohammad and all our great leaders, teachers, and Messiahs?
The most magical experiences I have are the ones where I'm connected with Spirit, where the white light, Holy Ghost and all the combined love from above is working through me. And I do think we all have those experiences.
When I was developing my Intention Candle line, I was most excited about the Spirit Guides Candle. I loved the purple color, the aromatherapy blend and the magic I felt when I touched the first sample. I unpacked that sample and a friend standing next to me asked what "that candle does".
I couldn't help but laugh, because people who know me, know that I rarely have 'woo woo' folks in my life. My friends are practical types who kind of wonder if I've lost my mind--with comments like "you make your living talking to dead people?".
Yet I knew then, as I know now, that those who undertand the true power of connection with Spirit would gravitate to that candle. And ironically, only a few hours later, my friend Jaime saw it and was instantly drawn to it. She glanced at the new products that had just arrived. She lingered over my Mala Prayer collection and one caught her eye. It was spirit guides.
She was drawn to it and didn't really know why. The story doesn't end here. She is my marketing consultant. And in a candid conversation, I let her know that I felt her business wasn't really speaking from her spiritual soul. She had created something from the outside in, and not the inside out. At the time, she was frustrated with me, which I have to admit we all are when we are not seeing what is obvious to others.
She hung the Spirit Guides Mala in her room, and now months later, she has created a team of people around her that understand what she is doing at a very high level. She is operating now with some of the top people in Internet marketing and while it is subtle, the guidance from taking Spirit's suggestions is very powerful.
I believe that Jaime has had guidance from her Spirit Guides.
Which brings me to the power of Intention and the power of inviting energy into our lives. You see, without her conscious awareness, Jaime attracted that which would serve her at the highest order. This was the very thing that would bring her business and life into a new arena. She was asking Spirit to Guide her by conversations and meetings and her attraction to the Spirit Guides Intention Candle and Mala.
I'm not saying that the candle did anything. I'm saying Jaime did it by using a tool of intention. If you have read this far, then it tells you that your very energy is calling out to connect with your Spirit Guides.
What I say to my clients is this: try to get comfortable being in the inquiry of things and don't try to force a situation. This allows spirit to deliver to us the messages that we need. And Spirit will guide us if we give it space.
Jaime put her new attitude about her life this way, "It's (her philosophy) very much rooted in spirituality. I don't have to hide who I am anymore, because the people I've attracted are also operating at that level. I believe completely it has to do with connecting with my spirit guides."

I firmly believe that we should all have the same opportunities in life. Oprah has proven this, hasn't she?
