The Buzz all over the fitness world continues to be Core Training.
What is core training? The idea is that our body movement originates from our core muscles. Core training therefore improves
our center of gravity and better supports our spine for simple daily activities--such as walking, lifting and sitting.
And it probably goes without saying that since core training improves overall health, it is the springboard for choosing
the way you want your body to be shaped. Today all we have to do is pick the guru to follow who has the sculpting method
we desire.
And look how far we've come.
In the 50's, fitness guru Jack Lalanne pioneered this technique that emphasized the importance of abdominal, back and hip
muscles strenght for better body awareness and well-being. Basically, he was the original " core training" expert.
In the 80's and 90's core training took a back seat to the Jane Fonda and Suzanne Sommers cardio craze that focused on body
shaping and of course, small thighs.
Today with the popularity of yoga and Pilates, health and overall well-being take center stage in fitness. Becoming fit
is more than weight management, but working to strenghten our bodies to allow us all to have optimal health and well being
as we age.
